Co-UDlabs at G-Night 2024
Last Friday, 27th of September, Europe celebrated the Researchers Night. The Co-UDlabs Project took part in this open science initiative to bring scientific findings to the general public. Researchers from the project participated with the event “G-Night. Noite Europea das persoas investigadoras de Galicia”, which was coordinated by the University of Vigo and in which the University of A Coruña, the University of Santiago de Compostela and other Galician research centers also participated.
As part of the G-Night events in A Coruña, four visits to the Center for Technological Innovation in Construction and Civil Engineering (CITEEC) were offered for the general public, including visits to the urban drainage facilities of the Co-UDlabs project. There were two types of visits distributed in two sessions (morning and afternoon); a general visit to CITEEC in which all the laboratories of the center were shown, and a specific visit to the Hydraulics Laboratory in which the Co-UDlabs researchers could explain the urban water system by showing the current facilities. The objectives of the project were also presented during the visits, highlighting the opportunity to attract international researchers, together with the research being carried out in the facilities during these weeks through the Transnational Accesses programme. There was a total of 64 visitors with ages ranged from 4 to 55 years old.
