Workshop on FAIR Monitoring Data Practices in Urban Drainage
We invite you to collaborate in a focused workshop on FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data practices in urban drainage. This workshop will explore the latest concepts, implementations, and resources aimed at harmonizing and sharing data to enhance urban drainage water management strategies.
Date: 28.01.2025 – 12:00-13:00 CEST
Location: Virtual
FAIR data practices?
Data-driven models like ChatGPT have demonstrated the transformative potential of large-scale, data sharing. The ability to create comprehensive datasets that are Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable (FAIR) has been crucial for the success of machine learning models, which rely on diverse, high-quality datasets.
Unfortunately, in the field of urban drainage, the innovation potential of large data repositories has not yet been realized, because harmonized data practices, such as using ontologies and data models are missing or not widely adopted in the urban drainage community.
In this workshop, we will discuss key concepts such as ontologies, data models, and implementations to support large data archives. We will also explore the importance of OGC standards in ensuring semantic interoperability, as well as the potential benefits of integrating real-time data access. By bringing together experts in these fields, we aim to drive forward collaboration and innovation in data-driven management of urban drainage systems.
If you are an expert on FAIR urban water data, or just interested in joining us, please register below.
We look forward to your participation and the opportunity to shape the future of data sharing in urban water management.
