Applied Course on Urban Drainage Metrology
The Applied Course on Urban Drainage Metrology was held at Universidade da Coruña and CITEEC – Research & Innovation Centre on Civil Engineering and Building from 16th to 19th July 2024 in the framework of the EU’s Green Week 2024.
With 21 attendees registered for the four-day course, Co-UDlabs provided a mixed approach to urban drainage metrology through a series of inclusive presentations and lectures on the latest advances in the field, along with various practical and hands-on activities at the CITEEC laboratories — including the STREET and BLOCK facilities, which are hosting Co-UDlabs Transnational Access experiments. The course was organized into four modules: the measurement of hydraulic variables, the measurement of pollutants, data collection and processing, and the simulation of a sampling campaign within the CITEEC infrastructure.
The course was a great opportunity for partners and stakeholders from Spain’s and Galicia’s communities of academics, researchers, practitioners, utility managers, local UD and water management authorities to meet and share expertise, common issues, and innovative solutions and ideas on a very sensitive topic for public policy and sustainability action.
UDC is glad to have offered a platform for more mutual learning and innovation opportunities, and our consortium plans to replicate this successful model soon, with a focus on an even more diverse audience of partners and stakeholders.
